The Giant's Causeway is truly one of Ireland’s best natural wonders. There was extensive volcanic activity over 50 million years ago, the hot lava cooled resulting in the formation of over 40,000 interlocking basalt columns. There are a few examples of this phenomenon around the world but none as impressive as the Giant’s Causeway. Spend two hours exploring this fantastic attraction with its many notable features such as the Giants Boot, the chimney stacks, the Giant's Gate, and the honeycomb.
On our wonderful day trip, you also get to cross the Carrick-A-Rede rope bridge. From this viewpoint, you are afforded spectacular coastal and ocean views. Also, on a clear day, you can see Scotland and have cliffs views that rival the cliffs of Moher for its beauty.
You have 75 minutes to explore Belfast or your driver can arrange for a political taxi tour (£15pp not included).
Irish Day Tours have received the Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 - and have a 96% rating - excellent or very good. This is due to our clean modern fleet of buses, our attention to customer service, and our excellent driver guides.
Throughout the day you will enjoy the unique humour, wisdom, and unbeatable knowledge of our guides. Furthermore, we will drive along some of the most breathtaking coastlines in Northern Ireland. In conclusion, our Giant’s Causeway tour is an incredible trip with memories to last a lifetime.
Meet your guide and fellow travellers for the day tour at the Molly Malone Statue on Suffolk street. Board our comfortable bus and head North out of the City. Enjoy the drive to Northern Ireland with your guide providing entertainment and knowledge in equal measure.
For our first stop, we will be visiting the iconic Dark Hedges. The Dark Hedges is made up of a row of Beech trees joining together to form a tunnel. The Dark Hedges has made a few impressive TV appearances over the past few years, for example, in the Transformers movie, The Last Knight and Game of Thrones fans may recognise this avenue as 'The King's Road'. Don't forget your cameras for this stop!!
On the journey there are spectacular views over Whiteparks Bay and Portbradden. We will have lunch (not included) before tackling the legendary Causeway. Stroll up to the very peak of the cliffs so that you get a panoramic view of the causeway, then descend down to the point referred to as the “Organ”. Alternatively, a mobility bus operates which can take you directly to the causeway for a small fee. This extraordinary natural attraction never fails to impress. Explore this fantastic natural attraction formed 50 million years ago.
On to the capital of Northern Ireland, Belfast, with its many fantastic landmarks, You can take free time to explore the city centre including city hall, the opera house and the Crown pub, or take the opportunity to do a political taxi tour of West Belfast where you will visit the peace wall and many of the hot spots associated with the troubles in Northern Ireland.
