Giants Causeway Day Tour From Dublin
If you want to discover one of the most fascinating natural attractions of Ireland, certainly this is your tour! On this occasion, we head towards Northern Ireland, to be exact to Antrim coast and Belfast city, the capital of Northern Ireland. One of the wonders that this country offers it is located here. During the journey before arriving at our first stop, Carrick a Reid rope bridge, we had a chance to appreciate the spectacular views of the Antrim coast, making a brief stop in the scenic town of Glencoy. A small fishing town, full of charm. The truth is that this coastal along the Antrim coast route is wonderful. This coastal drive offers a marvellous views, with green valleysand cliffs and charming villages that was worth photographing.
But the real gem is about to come! Once we arrive at the car park we have a short walk, around 20 minutes, to get the to breathtakingCarrick a Reid rope bridge, a path which is certainly very nice. The spot is incredible and the most meaningful thing is to cross the bridge. Even if you have a little fear of heights it is highly recommendable due to the amazing views. Athough, in my case it was not a sunny day I would say that it was more typical Irish day, four season in one day, I enjoyed a lot the landscape and I also could see the Rathlin islands which it is located in front of the bridge. The curious thing about this bridge is that it was built more than 300 years ago by local fishermen in order to catch the salmon and the old construction has nothing to do with the present one.
After this first stop we will continue our route to another of the highlights of the tour which they were the Giants of Causeway. Once again we were impressed by the scenary. Here we also have a short walk from the car park until we reach the Giants Causeway. Is a excellent place to take photos and to breathe a bit of fresh air of this land.
After visiting the Causeway I had time to had lunch looking at the coast before heading to the city of Belfast. Close to the Causeway it is located Dunluce castle where we stopped to takephotos. This castle was home to the McDonnell Clan for many years. But maybe nowadays is more famous due to some setting of Games of Throne were recorded here. We continue our journey to Belfast city, where we will spend an hour. Is is certainly true that one hour is not enough time to explore properly the whole city, that is to say, if you are interesting visiting the peace wall, one of the most authenticway is renting a black taxi and the local driver will explain you the history. But this is not possible mainly because the timing so we have an excuse to come back.
The monuments that I have visited were the city hall, the main street (close to the city hall), the albert memorial oclock and the surrounding streets. During the tour the distances between some places are a bit long but thanks to the outstanding guide, who was a great storyteller and also a good singer the travel was really amusing.
