Overview

Ireland is known for beautiful rolling green hills, pots of gold and cheeky leprechauns. However it is also known for something else – dramatic cliff edges. Join us as we discover one of Ireland’s 7 Wonders, the Cliffs of Moher. Take an unforgettable journey to the Wild Atlantic, and you will be rewarded with dramatic and breathtaking views that are nothing short of amazing. First of all, this tour takes you to one of the best natural attractions in Ireland. Then in addition, we will explore the delightful village of Doolin, Burren National Park, and Galway City.

Dare to peak over the 120-metre-high cliffs and enjoy incredible views along the cliffs from every angle. Feel the sea breeze on your face and listen to the waves crash along the base of the cliffs. Learn the history of Cornelius O’Brien, a man ahead of his time, and wander the edge of the cliffs to O’Brien’s Tower. Consequently, you will lose yourself as you look out across the open horizon at the infinite ocean.

After exploring the cliffs, enjoy a delicious meal in the charming village of Doolin. A beautiful village with outstanding food, we recommend visiting at Fitzpatrick’s Pub.

Our journey then takes us to the limestone wonder called The Burren. Colourful flowers have burst through the cracks of the limestone pavement, making it a truly unique location and a thriving ecosystem. Because of the mild microclimate some varieties of flowers can only be found in this region.

Finally, we will visit the vibrant city of Galway. Discover brightly coloured pubs playing live music, and cafes with front row seats to street performers. Another possibility is to take a brisk walk along the beach and look upon flamboyant art from exhibitions around the world.

While on tour our friendly and experienced guides will keep you company on your travels and provide you with entertaining and informative commentary.

Itinerary

6:50 am: DEPART DUBLIN

We will meet at the Molly Malone statue on Suffolk Street (map is linked on our booking page). You will board our comfortable coach, meet your guide and fellow adventurers, then head west out of Dublin. We will pass the Guinness Factory, Kilmainham Jail and Curragh horseracing track. There are quaint villages, lush countryside and even some castle ruins to see as we head towards the Cliffs of Moher. So, keep your cameras ready!

10:40 am: THE CLIFFS OF MOHER

You will have the opportunity to stroll around the impressive cliff tops, enjoy panoramic views and take in the history of the area. Marvel at the captivating landscape and stunning views out to sea. Feel the breeze on your face as you look out at the waves crashing against the cliffs below (from a safe distance!) This is a lovely walk, the landscape changes as you move, and each angle is more stunning than the next. You will certainly take lovely photos here! Included in the price is the entrance to the cliffs as well as an interactive video in the visitor’s centre.

12:45 pm: DOOLIN - LUNCH

After exploring the cliffs you will have worked up an appetite, so we will stop for lunch at the delightful village of Doolin. Well known for its traditional Irish music, Doolin is located near Lisdoonvarna, famous for its matchmaking festival. Enjoy lunch here before boarding the bus again for further adventure. (Lunch not included)

2:00 pm: THE BURREN

After lunch we will head to the Karst landscape of the Burren. It is almost like taking a lunar walk as you traverse the rocky limestone exterior. This unique region is home to many plants and flowers, which manage to grow within fertile crevices in the rocky ground. Lovely orchids and bright gentian blue flowers only grow in this part of the country. See if you can spot them! Take a refreshing stroll right on the coast and navigate the rocky landscape.

3:45 pm: GALWAY CITY

Discover the Bohemian city of Galway. It is renowned for its brightly painted pubs, live music and cafés. Galway is a city steeped in history; explore the meandering streets and listen to the many street performers from around the world who call this city their home. Remnants of the medieval town walls lie between shops selling Aran sweaters, handcrafted Claddagh rings, and stacks of second-hand and new books. This “City of Tribes” will sure to be a highlight of your day tour!

5:00 pm: DEPART GALWAY AND RETURN TO DUBLIN

We will return to Dublin reminiscing about the day's activities, the memorable scenery, and with stories to tell about our experiences! The Cliffs of Moher are the most visited natural attraction in Ireland. We are certain the tour will be something that you will remember long after you've returned home.

Additional info

We are a sustainable coach tour company, doing our best to promote a greener future. Over the past few years we have been taking steps to become more environmentally friendly by incorporating new sustainable practices.

Our Eco journey:

- Ei Travel Group is eco certified

- We are a member of the Native Woodland Trust, who do tremendous work in protecting and preserving Ireland's woodlands. They are also committed to restoring Ireland’s original climax ecosystem which they are doing through the re-creation of woodlands, using native seed.

- We have solar panels installed in our bus yard where we have the garage and offices too. The solar panels make the yard net zero emmissions meaning all our day times electricity is covered by the solar panels. Solar panels are the cleanest form of energy generation, maintenance free and one of the most environmentally friendly technologies.

- The yard has a rain water harvestor which is used to wash all the buses. The harvestor collects the rain water, stores it, filters it and then it is used to wash the buses.

- The coaches have telematics for eco driving techniques which provides a digital blue print of the vehicles operation.

- Multiple staff members within the company are 'Leave no Trace' trained. Leave No Trace Ireland is an Outdoor Ethics Education Programme which promotes and inspires responsible recreation outdoors.

-  By taking customers out on coaches we are taking a certain amount of cars off the road each year.

- All our coaches have Euro 6 engines in them. The Euro 6 emissions standard provides increased efficiency, clearner aid and reduced CO2.

- We also have a very modern fleet which benefits the environment sustainability.

We look forward to updating our customers on new practices we will introuduce along our Eco journey.
