Like you’re traveling through a Movie!

We wanted to get out of Dublin and see the Irish countryside. Dublin, it’s great, but it’s just like any other international city. This is a great way to see other parts of Ireland in a single day trip. Good thing about this tour is that it’s the only thing this particular company does, so they are experts in what you will see, and what is available to do at the stops. Our Guide was Pat, he’s the sort of guy who you could imagine narrating an audio book. His voice is nice and mellow. He can be a bit goofy, and he’s ALWAYS ready to talk about the sites, and history of a place with his guests. His desire is that the customer gets what they want out of the tour, and is ready, and willing to make sure you get just that. As a side note, when returning from Glendalough Lake…. don’t try and keep up with him when he goes back for his coffee and muffin…. that old boy can move when he needs to. Pat and our driver John, were very good and we had a great time on our anniversary. Also, He has a “killer” version of Molly Malone he will sing for you…. even if you don’t want him to. You’ll have it in your head the rest of your trip!

A great introduction to this ancient and beautiful part of Ireland!

So glad we booked this trip. It was a spur of the moment decision to take a day out of our long weekend in Dublin and see a bit of the countryside. From the moment we introduced ourselves to Dermott, our guide, and Liam, our driver, we felt very welcome. Having only booked the day before, we had not done much research and had a woeful lack of knowledge of the area and its history. Dermott is an excellent guide and made it all come alive. I could almost see those early Christian scholars going about their offices in Glendalough! Liam negotiated some unexpected tight bends and marathon related traffic conditions beautifully, too.
I would definitely recommend this tour.

Excellent day tour to Glendalough and Kilkenny

This tour was recommended to me by a client and I’m so happy I took his advice. The combination of medieval monastic Glendalough and the thriving small city of Kilkenney was ideal. Four pick-up points throughout Dublin make catching this tour a breeze, even if there is just the one drop-off due to evening traffic patterns. Coach driver John was skillful while tour guide Pat is nothing short of a national treasure. This latter has expertly leveraged a prior career in teaching with a boundless love for his native Ireland. His command of history is especially appreciated. Take advantage of his optional guided walk of Kilkenny; it’s well worth it.
