Overview
The Malahide castle and whiskey discovery tour brings you to one of Ireland’s finest castles Malahide Castle, Teelings distillery and the Irish whiskey museum.
Our first port of call is the Teelings distillery, This is the only whiskey distillery in Dublin. Dublin was once the heartland of Irish whiskey with over 45 distilleries in the city in the early 1900′s but the irish whiskey business fell into demise and almost total destruction for a number of reasons. Teelings aim to restore Dublin as a producer of high quality whiskey, The tour of the distillery introduces you to the process of distilling whiskey and gives you an insight into the roots of the Teeling brand.
Between your two Whiskey tours, we’ll take a break with a visit to the fantastic Malahide castle! The tour of the castle is as much about the life of the Talbot family who resided there for 700 years. The castle is full of heirlooms and there is a story in every room. The antique furniture is stunning and the architecture is second to none. The gardens are fantastic with ancient trees and sculpted gardens. I personally was very impressed by the castle tour and the gardens.
The final leg of your tour brings you to the Irish whiskey museum where you will be treated to a guided tour of the facility. Your guide brings you on a journey through time from when whiskey was distilled in its crudest form by the Monks in the 6th century through the golden age of Irish whiskey when there were over 200 hundred distilleries. You will learn how whiskey was a part of the Irish lifestyle and how the authorities tried to control, tax and destroy the industry.
(Entrance to the two whiskey experiences and a guided tour of Malahide Castle is included in the price!)

Excellent attraction
What a great little visit to the Teeling Distellery, you can get close up to view whiskey being made from start to just before bottled. The guide was informative and you could tell he had a passion for the product, this tour was better than the jameson tour as it’s an actual working distellery and the tasting session at the end was great. I also got to bottle my very own 23 year old malt with label and name in the ledger. Thanks for a great tour guys!
Brilliant
This tour was fantastic. The guides were so enthusiastic and it was a good twist in a traditional tour. You learn about the whole history of Irish whiskey rather than just one distillery. The tasting was great as well, I never really likes whiskey before. We paid the extra for the glass and extra tasting, definitely worth it. A must visit!
